Fire and Flame

Fire blossomed through her arm, and Malika sucked air between her teeth. Blood spilled onto the sheet covering her, but the coldness in her shoulder suddenly vanished, and she sensed that it was gone for good this time. Blue flame licked up from the blade then surrounded her arm, and the wound to her arm sealed up and closed within moments, stanching the flow of blood.
Mistress, that... that was amazing! I feel almost whole again! Morduth's voice sounded surprised, mirroring her own shock at what had just happened. Malika had expected the flow of blood against Morduth's steel to push back the cold, but she hadn't anticipated the healing properties of the flame itself. Unfortunately, the physical injury to her shoulder lingered, and she looked up to the two men now looking at her with slack-jawed silence.
"I be needing the services of your healer now, if you have one," she said.
