Never Happened
It's all bullshit. My grandmother isn't the Captain of a lost starship. She wasn't cursed to forever roam the black seas of space for killing the legitimate captain during a mutiny. That was just a ghost story that my father told me when I was a child. The facts are thus: My grandmother served as an engineer on the D. S. E. V. Nautilus, whether it was named after Verne's fictional ship or merely continued the tradition of reusing a name that dozens of ships carried before it is uncertain. Next, it is true that the Nautilus sent out a distress call alleging to mutinous behavior among a 'small but integral part of the crew' but in no way specifically indicated any member of my family, nor the reason for said mutiny. Finally, the Nautilus vanished never to be seen again outside of suspect accounts of people aboard small, lonely ships, never corroborated by their own sensor readings. That's it.
Sure I've heard the audio clips where you can almost make out my fathers name. Jokers with poor taste, if you ask me.
