Some lessons to apply to later life,
So I may save fond friends from future strife,
And loathe myself a little less. I turned
My eyes upon myself, at point of knife,
From others' viewpoint: hard. It changed my life
And helped me greatly. That's a win hard-earned.

My trauma made that vivid, that's for sure!
And I can understand: intentions pure
Don't mitigate the harm. Now, it makes sense.
The repercussions woke me up; I'm brought
To mindfulness.
