"I can't read this."
"Your blog. It's just blanket advice. It gives no actual help to anyone."
"Okay, so what do you recommend I write instead?"
"Give a personal story about how you used your own advice."
"I haven't had to use my actual advice."
"You haven't had time when you faced a hardship?"
"Well, nothing significant enough to remember. Hardships pass. You get through them. Then you forget."
"It's true! I haven't had.."
"Then your blog is bullshit. Why should anyone listen to you? You don't know what you're talking about."
"Next post, what do you do when your friend calls your life bullshit."
"Not your life, your advice. Don't get dramatic. I'm trying to help."
"No, I'm trying to help people overcome their fears and hardships."
"But you're not doing it at all. You're just blowing positive smoke up their asses."
"LOL, positive smoke. What am I smoking?"
"I don't know, but stop. I don't want any of it."
No prequels yet. Why not write one?
No sequels yet. Why not write one?

: / It's funny despite the tag calling you out, I could see you being either side. Even if it's based on an actual conversation, it's a well structured back and forth.
I don't think trying to help people is ever bullshit (unless it is based on something other than trying to help) but I can understand the ummmmm concern of the second party. I mean even cliched advice was once based out of someone's life, right? Hurm. Like all good stories, this gives me something to think about.

It is based in truth. I went back and added parts where I used my advice at my work to two blog posts based on a comment that it trivializes people's situations with blanket advice instead of helps them with specific examples. You're right, both sides could have been me telling myself this, but at the time of writing, it wasn't. It took me a while to figure out the situation I could use as an example. https://wellintentionedindecision.blogspot.com/2017/07/overcome-your-fear-and-jump-in.html
