The Paws that Refresh

Inspiration hits with a flash, stories written on the go. A rumble of laughter and the tale is heard only in echoes. The wind blows me in a new direction. Whom shall I visit next?

Story is marked as mature.

I hugged my mount in that way he loved, with my legs and claws, and he took the hint at once. We flew back home, leaving behind that little trick with her soppy clan. I had no interest in seeing any of them again. I'm meant for better things.

Klancy was one of those things...on the way toward more. For now, I had to keep him distracted. His hoard of runcible spoons wouldn't work this time, but I have my own ways.

He was smitten with me, but I needed more; I soon got it. Here's how.

First, I struck while the iron was hot, while he was still emotional...I could always tell. Every dragon has a chunk missing from his armor; Klancy's was more of a spear. They don't tell you about that in the stories, but some dragons do have a thing for Caitians like me, and dragons can be susceptible; these affairs can happen. And it had happened last evening. It happened now, too.

With my soft fur and firm grip, I pleased Klancy as Nomah never could have. I made him forget her as I stoked his fire.

He got quite hot. I'm good.

I see this, now--after realizing there was much more to the story than "Foe," as a sort of side quest, I guess, at least for the time being. And yes, she's definitely a manipulative minx. Not certain yet what bigger thing she's aiming at...

I don't want to sequel around you, but I do want to do my own little sequel. I think I will write two sequels, one for me, and one for you, as this story could go two ways in my mind. Fork in the road!

I am delighted to get this comment, and welcome the idea! We ficlateers could really do this sort of thing more often; that's how the site can work.

We also....also...could do a choose your own adventure thing here. I'm for it. I might do a special acct for that purpose. :D Cheers, you are so encouraging, consistently. :D
