I went a little Kong, and they put me in the zoo. But now I'm back cause there was more for me to do.
We used to believe things when I was a kid; I'm only 17, but that's plenty old enough now. We used to believe we would live forever, and things would would work themselves out. We used to believe this was our planet.
The year is 2040, and now we know things. We know that we are part of an Empire called called Elysium. We never had a say in the empire because the condition for a seat is the ability to travel to the capital of the 10,000 worlds, 1000 light years away.
Unfortunately for us, Terra, what the rest of the universe calls Earth, is in a march land.
Meaning smack dab in the middle between the Empire, and the Croatone Overlords. They are at war.
The Emperor, Duke Letterkill, sent a token force to defend us from the enslaving overlords. They didn't last the summer.
I kissed my childhood sweet heart goodbye at the train station, and the only word I could remember was yes. Yes, we will fight back. Yes, we will persevere, and yes, we will show those aliens that Earth doesn't need protecting.

I'm not really full of hope that the Croatone Overlords will be a walk in the park. As is so often the case, when two big powers have at one another, the small people in between just get slaughtered like so many sheep.
Oh, I think you have a comma too many after "the condition for a seat is".

Mon I meant march, like a small country in between two rivals. Isreal is a march land, because for egypt to war with Asia they first had to march through Isreal. For Babylon to retaliate on Egypt they had to again march through Isreal. I.E. March-land.

I like that her yes gives him strength to 'soldier' on. If Earth can hold its own, maybe they will move their march land to avoid the planet.
