Connected by Love (1/3)

Inspiration hits with a flash, stories written on the go. A rumble of laughter and the tale is heard only in echoes. The wind blows me in a new direction. Whom shall I visit next?

I'm torn, my dear. I don't know what to do.

I wish you were alive, that you'd respond

To guide me, as before--but you're beyond

Such interactions now; still, I seek you.

Just hear me, please. I lack all peace of mind.

It shuffled off just after you withdrew.

My discontent awakened, and it grew;

I was ashamed. Though ever strong and kind,

And though I loved you utterly, I found

My friendships precious, meaningful, fulfilling,

And, in their ways, as strong and as profound

As ours, my darling. None could take your place,

But those I love are valued, and they're willing

To share my journey gently and with grace.
