Oh, Nose!

Robert Quick

Where the -@!# did my muse go?

Writer, dreamer, knight, shackled by entertainment . . . and people.

I like her nose.

How many times have I said that to myself? It's not the sort of compliment you can hand out. Compliments from strangers are limited to: hair, dress, and nails. Anything that varies from our unspoken rule will screw up your tenuous connection and possibly their day--not a great result for a compliment.

Don't worry, it's not a fetish. I don't get hard looking at noses. I just think they are underrated in the face department. Don't get me wrong. Eyes are great. Beautiful eyes can stun me in the same way that a perfect sunset makes me pause and admire its beauty without any effort on its part. Lips are good but honestly, they're overrated. Give me a bold nose any day! Noses are the leaders of the face. Where the nose goes, the face is sure to follow. It's like the face's hood ornament. Perhaps that's why I'm not super fond of nose rings. It's decorating a decoration which is overkill, like putting the star on top of your angel atop the Christmas tree.

I like her nose and I will never tell her.

This is fabulous. It's honest, conversational, and in no place does it become dull. I love it!

I love this! It made me giggle a few times and that part about how beautiful eyes stun you is just swoon-worthy. Great piece!

This is a perfect use of a ficlet-sized piece of fiction--a little musing with a lot of potential for story to happen. You've developed a character enough to make them believable.

This made me smile, which is always welcome in a bit of fiction. It was quirky and just a touch awkward (not the writing but the character) which combined to make it lovable.

Ah, I wish I'd seen this earlier. This was lovely, it really made my day, which is saying something as this is shaping up to be a damn good day.
