Friendship Anxiety
Inspiration hits with a flash, stories written on the go. A rumble of laughter and the tale is heard only in echoes. The wind blows me in a new direction. Whom shall I visit next?
I hope that I can find a proper manner
To make new friends and treat them as they’d choose,
So they feel safe and cheerful ‘neath my banner
And not be overwhelmed, creeped out, bemused.
-
I know there’s something wrong, but no one tells
Just where I erred; they simply flee from me.
It might be common-sense to someone else;
A sense I lack, but need, if I’m to see
-
Some portion of my future saved from gloom
And loneliness, deliver’d from despair.
I need companionship, for I have room
Aplenty in my heart; and I’ll be there
-
For any friend who needs and wants support,
Accepts me as I am, and shares rapport.

It seems that poetry that rhymes comes really easily to you (correct me if I'm wrong!) but I really appreciate reading things with such a nice flow throughout. Well done!

Hi Escapist! I am very pleased and grateful at your words! Thanks! I hope you will enjoy my new sestina "The Dashed Line." I'm pretty pleased with it!
Robert, Perhaps we can talk about this subject. It's sure not fiction, it's just shaped fact, and it's a harrowing and uncomfortable circumstance. We could email if you want. --Anna

Thank you so much, Emmyful, though I certainly can't feel any pleasure in knowing you've had pain like this before. :D

The eye rhyme at the end is rather a proud thing for me, a sort of letdown that signals that the hope will go unfulfilled....pity, that.
