The snapchat photos flew past. My friend Drew transformed from adorable young man to fierce woman one snap at a time. He posed with several dresses. I was thankful he didn't do the duckface.
How easy is it to transform yourself? In a matter of hours he was a different person. How he acted that part, a photo can't tell. Did the clothes make him feel different? Certainly when I dress up formally I feel more confident than when I lounge around in sweats, but it's still me inside.
What does it feel like to be him? Does he feel more masculine or more feminine? Can you feel those things, other than how it feels to dress up?
People try on different things all the time. They try on a new job, a new hair color, a new hangout. We shouldn't discourage creativity and gumption and courage. Follow your dreams. Drew did.
Who would I be if I followed his example and made a leap towards trying something new? I'd certainly gain wisdom and insight into what people in that niche do. With perspective comes understanding.
