Thoughts of the Day
Ficlets and Ficly survivor, FicMom, and Mistress of Well-Intentioned Indecision and Goddess of Unrequited Love. @ElshaHawk @HawkandYoung
Whispering, whispering, always whispering. Inseparable pair, sharing secrets, tales, complaints. They don't want me to hear. Why? Is it about me?
I shouldn't try to listen. I shouldn't let it bother me. I can do things how I want, disregard, disregard them.
Then they up and DO. They move things, examine things, CLEAN things, throw things away. Then they whisper whisper. This is my space, too.
Let them clean. Let them busy themselves with the menial chores. I have better and more important things to do than worry about their methods and ways. Besides, worrying about trash is, well, worrying.
Let it roll off, like water off a duck. If it concerned you, they'd tell you. Smile. Chit-Chat selectively. Don't share your stories willy-nilly. They don't care about you. If they did, they would ask. Find a place to bring up something on common ground. Say it.
Smile. Stop talking.
It feels better, warmer. They enjoyed the tid-bit, the tiny story. Remember.
They are not out to get you.
No prequels yet. Why not write one?
No sequels yet. Why not write one?

I guess the problem is my lack of sophistication and confidence in myself.
Then I wouldn't be so paranoid.

Is it paranoia if they really are out to get you?

But who's to say? They could be talking about me and it goes nowhere, thus making me correct to be paranoid, but they win when they drop it. Or they could be talking about their own lives and I am interpreting it as if it is me, making me paranoid, Or what they said goes nowhere or is easily resolved and I am paranoid.
Time will tell I guess.

Good depiction of someone on the edge of paranoia and reasonable concern, madness and eccentricity.
