Oh god. I hope it's not me they're talking to. If they think I got cut by one of the Ferals, then I'm sunk. They'll kill me on the spot if they have any common sense.
"It's just a scratch, Bel." I hear a woman's shaky response and then before I realize it, I'm being shoved onto my back. My sunburned skin practically hisses in protest and a groan of pain escapes me.
I look up ready to chew out the person manhandling me and then see the woman from before. She's not really a woman per se. Maybe twenty years old. Half her face is covered in a sheen of blood but I can tell she's probably extremely pretty when she's not oozing blood. Big blue eyes, cute shaggy red hair.
"Can you be a little gentler?" I ask, putting on my best smile which is probably coming out as a deranged grimace.
"Did they infect you?" She stares at me, completely deadpan. Obviously, unamused.
I have to hold in my half-sadistic laugh, "No. I was lucky."
"Good." I see her pupils almost erase the blue in her eyes and suddenly she collapses.
No sequels yet. Why not write one?

I had to look back at the other "Inspection" stories to piece together what was going on - unfortunate problem with reading them out-of-order and across a long timescale, I'm afraid.
Nice, though! Good work.

Haha yeah whenever I write a sequel I have to open up the tabs of the other simultaneous POVs so I can make everything accurate. But's it pretty fun and I'm glad you like them. :)
